Fanny
Bay Oysters Ltd. is celebrating their 20th anniversary with
the launch of their first cookbook containing over 40 recipes
for oysters, clams and mussels. The recipes were generously
submitted by local seafood lovers and restaurants as part
of a recent recipe contest. They include recipes for baked
and breaded oysters, chowders, soups and stews, fritters,
steamed mussels and clams, with names such as “Tipsy
Butter Basil Oysters”, “Tomato, Fennel and Orange
Mussels” and “Fresh Clams in Sambucca Tomato
Sauce”.

cookbook also contains colour photos of serving and presentation
ideas. It is available at the Fanny Bay Seafood Shop, located
at the Buckley Bay ferry terminal (Vancouver Island side of
the Denman Island ferry) or email

their support for families visiting their sick kids in Vancouver.Over
the past 20 years, Fanny Bay Oysters Ltd. has grown from modest
beginnings with local owners Glen and Sharon Hadden and three
part-time employees, who started working out of a small shucking
shed at the mouth of Waterloo Creek. The company now employees
85 full-time and 15 part-time and operates a modern 17,000
square foot processing plant, supplying customers all over
the globe with world-renowned Fanny Bay® oysters, clams
and mussels. |
